As you know, we were too late to go to the park when we arrived so we hung out, made dinner and went to bed early so we could go hunt for diamonds before we headed out in the morning. Drum roll please. . . Sorry, no diamonds for us. But we had fun and we found some pretty rocks to put in a tumbler one day.
We arrived early and there was already a line forming but only about 10 people ahead of us. By the time the doors opened there were probably 30 people behind us.

After the park we headed back to camp and took showers and hooked up the camper. We were on the road just a little after 10:00 am. We put Albuquerque in the gps and just headed in that direction. We knew we wouldn’t get that far but we did make it into Texas for the night. At mile marker 131 on I-40, Texas has a beautiful rest area with picnic tables and beautiful views. I think we arrived about 9:00 PM and left the next morning about 7:00 am.

We arrived in Santa Rosa around lunch time so we stopped at Lake Santa Rosa and made some sandwiches and enjoyed the view before we got back on the road.

Maybe when you tumble those rocks you’ll find a surprise!
